Georgian Pianist Giorgi Latsabidze was born 15 April 1978 in Tbilisi, Georgia. He began piano studies at the age of three and began composing pieces on the piano at age five.
He won the Georgian Presidential scholarship throughout his early education, receiving his masters and artists degree with highest honors. Further graduate degrees were completed at the "Hannover Hochschule fur Musik" in Germany and the "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria.
Latsabidze has studied with numerous great teachers including Professor Russudan Chodzava (The V. Saradjishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire, Georgia), Professor Gerrit Zitterbart (Hochschule fur Music, Hannover, Germany), Professor Klaus Kaufmann (Mozarteum, Salzburg, Austria), and Professor Lazar Berman (Florence, Italy).
In October 2006 Giorgi gave solo concerts in Austria's Lienz, Salzburg, Graz and in Vienna (Beethoven Concert Hall). During the triumphant ovation at the Graz performance, the President of Steiermark / Austria has invited Mr. Latsabidze to perform a private salon concert in the Presidential Residence (Schloss Eggenberg) in May 2007.
Giorgi has concertized throughout Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, South America and the United States and is recognized as one of the most significant performers of his generation.
Mr. Latsabidze is currently continuing his postgraduate work as a doctoral candidate at the University of Southern California with pianist, author and editor, Dr. Stewart Gordon. He has also been awarded the Graduate Teaching Assistantship at Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
